Radiotelescope RT-32 is actually built by Soviet people in Irbene, Latvia. When Soviet Union broke, VIRAC took the telescope under their control. Now they are observing electromagnetic radiation from the sky. Visitors are allowed to go inside when paying a fee.
The abandoned part of Irbene is actually a small village, where is few empty houses. But there seemed to live a dude, which drow us away.

This is the best UE place, where I have been. It’s a small village which is actually Soviet military base with a radar station. The radar was destroyed after Soviet Union breakdown. Now the village has been abandoned for over than 20 years.

The construction of this star shaped fortress begain in 1810 and it was completed in 1878. It has been under control of Russia and Latvia. Nowadays there is residential houses and abandoned building.

Now the slaughterhouse is deblocked. We visited here 2008, when the deblocking process was running. We had been wandering in the building an half an hour, before we actually noticed that the machines were smashing on the other side of the house.

Kuursaal spa was built in 1882 and it was a popular spa/resort. Now it’s a pile of bricks.
